A quick overview
– Software Assurance agreements are being grandfathered.
– These changes affect customers with perpetual products and who do not have an active Software Assurance agreement.
– These changes do not affect subscription licences or licences with an active Software Assurance agreement.
– Until 28 February 2025, perpetual products which are out of Software Assurance have a final opportunity to re-enter a Software Assurance agreement.
The details
For many years, Buildsoft’s Software Assurance has been available to give our customers the opportunity to keep their software up to date and to access help and advice from our technical support team.
Since 2022, our newest customers have been exclusively purchasing subscriptions to our software, which includes technical support and updates and offers superior flexibility in the way licences are managed.
Software Assurance is now being grandfathered and will have limited availability.
This change affords us the opportunity to give our customers greater flexibility and control over their licencing, and ensure access to the services needed to work successfully with our software.
Please review the information below to understand how this change affects you, and what your options are.
How do the changes affect you?
For licences without Software Assurance agreements
For perpetual products without an active Software Assurance agreement, you may re-enter an agreement on any licences you have before 28 February 2025. After re-entering a Software Assurance agreement, you may continue to maintain your contract to receive access to technical support and software updates.
From 28 February 2025 you will no longer be able to re-enter a Software Assurance agreement. After this date you will need to trade-in any software licence that no longer has a Software Assurance agreement for a subscription to access technical support and software updates.
For licences with existing Software Assurance agreements
For licences with an existing or active Software Assurance agreement, there is no change to your contract; you may continue to access your technical support services and software updates by continuing to maintain and renew your active agreement as usual.
For subscription licences
These changes do not affect subscription licences. Access to our technical support services and software updates are included as part of your subscription.
Switch to Subscription
For a limited time, massive savings are on offer when you trade-in your existing Cubit Estimating licence for a subscription.
